Products I have used up recently.
In the spirit of decluttering, downsizing my stash and finding my holy grail products I have been trying to finish up as many opened products as possible. Having previously worked in the cosmetic industry has meant I have an excessive amount of products which I am working my way through. I love reading these posts as you can get a better idea of how a product performs by using it to the end rather than just once or twice. I have used the coloured hearts below as a guide for which I would or would not repurchase.

L’Oreal Elnett hairspray.
The most iconic hairspray and an absolute steal. I love that it holds your hair in place but doesn’t leave your hair sticky or crispy. Plus it brushes out at the end of the day with ease and without leaving you desperate to wash your hair. And the smell reminds me of getting ready for a night out.
Estee Lauder Double Wear Light SPF 10 – Intensity 0.5
L’Oreal Elvive Dream Lengths Rapid Reviver.
As much as I love a deep conditioning hair mask, I rarely can muster the enthusiasm to either apply and wait or worse, wet hair, apply and then wait. Although it contains Amodeimethicone, it is one of the better silicones (read more about it on Michelle’s blogpost) and my hair seems to love it. I used it instead of conditioner and it not only didn’t weigh my hair down, but it also smoothed over my lockdown split ends. Winner.
ghd Curl Hold Spray
The key to curls that last all day (and then some), I have just finished my third bottle and have a new one ready to go. Undetectable in the hair but protects against heat and helps keep your curls in place.
Bobbi Brown Extra Lip Tint – Bare Pink
One of my favourite lip products for no make up, makeup days as featured in my Current Daily Makeup blogpost. I currently have the Bare Melon in my coat pocket and Bare Pink in Rosie’s bag.
Bobbi Brown Hydrating Gel
I had this in my freelance/bridal kit but due to lockdown and the subsequent lack of clients this year, I have been trying to use up as much as I can. As my skin is quite dry I don’t find this moisturising enough for repeated use and would have to layer it up with something more nourishing.

Clarins Gentle Eyemakeup Remover: Didn’t leave a film on my eyes, removed all of my eye make up with ease.
Clarins Relax Body Treatment Oil: Really not a fan of the smell, however I LOVE the Tonic oil. I got this as part of a GWP – such a great size freebie!
Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara: Chunky, thick lashes, I absolutely loved this mascara and will absolutely buy again.
Clarins Gentle Night Cream: Really gentle, nourishing cream that my skin reacted well to but is sadly discontinued.
Lancome Energie de Vie liquid moisturiser: Not moisturising enough for me. Didn’t see a big difference to my skin.
Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt Cologne: One of my favourites, I use my 30ml every day.
REN Vita Mineral Rescue Cream: Too thick for me. Felt claggy and left a film on my skin.
La Mer Regenerating Serum: Sadly out of my price range. One of the most effective serums I have tried.
Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base: Smells incredible and leaves skin smooth but not weighed down with product.
Does anybody else feel SO much better when they use products up and can throw them away? I can’t wait to get these in the recycling. Check to see if you are lucky enough to live near one of the Boots stores participating in the recycling rewards scheme, fingers crossed they come to Yorkshire soon!

Oh I do so love an empties! It is a really good way of seeing what people liked and didn’t and how the product truly behaved over a period of time. Also brilliant for you to be “hitting pan” on some of your items, especially with the size of your stash! 😀
