In the month where we all stayed home, unable to visit family, friends or non essential shops there were a few items that made my life at home that bit easier. The temperature has dropped and we aren’t spending as much time outside as we did in the first lockdown – this month has been all about keeping cosy at home.
I first discovered Caroline’s shop via her Instagram on one of my late night scrolling sessions when I was up with Rosie. I added a few things to my mental wishlist but finally took the plunge and ordered some reusable makeup remover pads and a face mask at the end of October. The mask itself has quickly become my go to and the only reason I haven’t included a photo is because it is currently in the wash. I find the fit of this style of mask much more comfortable than the pleated versions, and the cotton fabric is super soft. I went for the Yorkshire Meadows design, a dainty floral Liberty print which reminds me of my the snowsuit my mum bought for Rosie from M&S when she was born. It’s beautiful and still feels like ‘me’ even when I am wearing a mask.
We only bought Rosie the Amazon Kids tablet half way through the month but already we have had so much use out of it. I will do a full review when we have given it a more thorough test but so far it is a huge hit. Rosie is loving the Toca Pet Doctor app as well as any that involve colouring and drawing. I am shocked at how quickly she has picked up the different skills – she is dragging and dropping things in to boxes and swiping along. When we bought the tablet it was on offer for £84.99 which is a great price considering you get a years worth of unlimited downloads included, negating any worry that your toddler is going to rack up a huge bill.
I would say that this is up there as one of my all time favourite concealers. It gives a great coverage but doesn’t crease under the eyes or clump on blemishes. I have nearly finished my second tube in the shade 1N but I think I will go for the slightly brighter 0.5N shade next time to give my under-eyes a boost. This concealer is a must try for anyone who suffers from dark circles.
I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.
I haven’t watched I’m a Celeb in years, I think 2010 was the last series I was this engrossed in. I have gotten in to quite the routine of spending a peaceful hour in front of the tv come 9pm, with a couple of mince pies and a blanket. I am not sure whether it is the uninterrupted peace and quiet or watching the trials that I will miss more when it finishes. Key highlights for me have got to be the first trial with Shane and Jordan and then last night’s trial with Vernon and Gi, I have no idea how Vernon wasn’t sick. I am #TeamGi and #TeamJordan to take the crown.
What have you enjoyed using during November? Let me know your recommendations – especially TV programmes – I will need something to fill my I’m A Celeb void.
