    My 7 Spring Beauty Essentials.

Spring is an unpredictable time, probably the most of all of the seasons – one day it can be hailstorms, the next blazing sunshine. After wrapping up in wooly jumpers and boots all winter, now the weather is getting slightly brighter I have found myself getting my body preened ready for sandals, short sleeve tops and shorts.  I have also transitioned a few pieces of my makeup, switching to extra glowy formulations and peachy coral tones. I have even added a bit of bronzer in to my every day routine. Clarins Tonic Body Polisher. Months of wearing tights (and not moisturising as much as I should) has left the skin…

IT Cosmetics X My John Lewis Beauty Weekend – Review and Haul

We recently saw the return of the My John Lewis Beauty Weekend, having managed to get a ticket in the previous 2 events during lockdown, I was keen to reserve a place for this round. Tickets went on sale first thing on the 12th March and by lunchtime the gold tickets had completely sold out. Luckily I was poised and ready to buy my ticket, deciding to go for the panel with Maria Reyes – Retail and Education director at IT Cosmetics and consultant dermatologist Dr Anjali Mahto. The masterclass covered both skincare, makeup and finished with a  question/answer session. The event was a virtual webinar (thankfully our cameras were…

    My current evening skincare routine.

When I am feeling under the weather my skincare is one of the first things to slip. I stop indulging in a multi step regime and focus on the bare essentials. I absolutely cannot sleep with makeup on which is a blessing in disguise at it forces me to at least take it off. but apart from that it really is the absolute minimum. The products I am currently using focus on getting the most efficacy with minimum effort. There are a few steps in my routine that are still missing – mainly a retinol and vitamin c, so if you have any recommendations then please let me know. Of…

The best of budget beauty. Products under £10.

There are some products that are not only a complete bargain, but also rival their more spendy counterparts. These products are essentials in my collection and many of them have been repurchased time and time again.  The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 £5.90 Hyaluronic Acid can attract up to 1000 times its weight in water, but the key to it absorbing in to the skin is the molecule size. This tri-molecrular formula not only provides immediate relief to surface dryness but also helps to strengthen the moisture barrier. The results are remarkable but the skin does feel slightly tacky after application which I haven’t noticed with pricier alternatives.  The…

Products I have used up recently.

In the spirit of decluttering, downsizing my stash and finding my holy grail products I have been trying to finish up as many opened products as possible. Having previously worked in the cosmetic industry has meant I have an excessive amount of products which I am working my way through. I love reading these posts as you can get a better idea of how a product performs by using it to the end rather than just once or twice. I have used the coloured hearts below as a guide for which I would or would not repurchase.  Will repurchase immediately. Will repurchase at some point but I am in no…

    My current daily makeup.

Despite working in the cosmetic industry for the past 8 years, I am quite minimal when it comes to applying makeup on myself. My preference is for a glowy base that still allows my skin to show through, defined brows and enough concealer to hide the fact that I haven’t slept since 2018. The products I use change up periodically but I am trying to use up all of the half used bits in my stash which means unfortunately some of the products I recommend are sadly discontinued. I will try to recommend alternatives wherever possible. Dior Glow Maximiser: Very sadly discontinued, Glow Maximiser is the OG radiance in a…
