Every month ASOS launches a limited edition beauty box that retails for just £12 but is worth a whole lot more. Understandably they sell out incredibly fast, usually within 10 minutes but thanks to story on Beauty Calendars’ Instagram stories, we not only got a sneak peak on the contents of a box but also the tip that they would launch at around 5.30pm on Monday – cue repeated refreshing of the app!
I managed to grab both boxes – there were a few bits in each one that I was keen to try and I am always looking for products to look after Rosie’s bouncy, wild curls. They are currently out of stock but they do come back in to stock so I have linked them below. If you have the app you can set up back in stock notifications too.
If I ever find any bargains I tend to pop them up on my Insta Stories – make sure you are following me on Instagram so that you don’t miss out.
- We Are Paradoxx Repair 3 in 1 Conditioner 15ml
- Olaplex No.8 Bond Intense Moisture Mask 20ml
- Living Proof Triple Detox Shampoo Travel 60ml
- Frank Body Caffeinated Scalp Scrub 125ml
- Beauty Works Argan Oil Serum 30ml
I wasn’t as wowed by the contents of this box compared to the ‘Textured Hair Must Haves’ box that launched simultaneously. I never really use oil serums on my hair, even though I know I really should. I am quite low maintenance when it comes to hair, partially as it is not an area I am confident in, so I really need to up my game.
The Olaplex moisture mask is their latest release and is getting great reviews at the moment. I haven’t tried anything from Olaplex so I am pleased to have a couple of bits to try.
I have a tendency for my eczema to flair up on my scalp when I am run down. I tend to use the Aveda Pramasana Purifying scalp cleanser as my go to treatment and I haven’t tried a manual scalp scrub before so I am intrigued on how that will work – my only reservation is that it will be difficult to fully wash out.
The conditioner is in a small metal tin so I was expecting it to be a solid block, instead it is a thick cream and can be used as a conditioner, mask or finishing balm.
- Living Proof No Frizz Intense Moisture Mask 30ml
- Olaplex No.3 Hair Perfector 100ml
- Shea Moisture Red Palm & Cocoa Pudding 355ml
- Ouai Curl Creme 30ml
- Cantu Avocado Curling Cream 340g
Olaplex No.3 has been on my to try list for ages, I am probably one of the only people left who hasn’t tried it.
My hair is naturally wavy (about 2c) but quite fine so I struggle with keeping my curls defined but not frizzy. Rosie’s hair is exactly like mine when I was little, a mass of wild ringlets so keeping it tangle free and healthy is key, especially as she doesn’t like to sit still and have her hair brushed. I am hoping for some good results from the curling cream in particular.
I have tried a couple of things from Living Proof and Ouai over the past couple of years and fingers crossed these curl focussed products will be as impressive. I used the No Frizz range from Living Proof when Rosie was tiny (and took minis in to the hospital with me) but then moved back to my trusty Aveda and Philip Kingsley.
Did you manage to get hold of one of the ASOS beauty boxes? What would be on the top of your to try pile?
