• Monthly Favourites

What I have been loving lately: March Favourites 2021.

Another month down and a whole year since Lockdown began. This month I binge watched a lot of television, pared back my makeup to the bare essentials and ate a whole lot of almond chocolate. Take a peek at my 6 favourites for the month of March. The Circle and Celebrity Circle for Stand Up to Cancer. Whenever The Circle graces our screens I am hit with a wave of emotions, the first season aired whilst Rosie was a tiny newborn and I was at the depths of post natal depression, recovering at my parents. The Circle was one of our daily rituals and I have watched it ever since.…

IT Cosmetics X My John Lewis Beauty Weekend – Review and Haul

We recently saw the return of the My John Lewis Beauty Weekend, having managed to get a ticket in the previous 2 events during lockdown, I was keen to reserve a place for this round. Tickets went on sale first thing on the 12th March and by lunchtime the gold tickets had completely sold out. Luckily I was poised and ready to buy my ticket, deciding to go for the panel with Maria Reyes – Retail and Education director at IT Cosmetics and consultant dermatologist Dr Anjali Mahto. The masterclass covered both skincare, makeup and finished with a  question/answer session. The event was a virtual webinar (thankfully our cameras were…

Really easy 3 Ingredient S’mores Traybake Recipe.

I have been meaning to post this incredibly quick and easy recipe for a couple of weeks. It takes just three ingredients to make and always goes down very well. We had it this evening after our dinner as a little floor picnic – Rosie’s favourite thing to do at the moment. Honestly if she is being off with her food, a floor picnic always gets her eating.  What you will need. Chocolate – enough to cover the bottom of your dish. I used a casserole dish and used a bag of Milkybar buttons and a bag of Cadburys buttons. Appx 200g total. Marshmallows – I have found that  traditional…

#SaveFoodToSaveTime with Food Works Sheffield and Tetrads Events.

I was recently contacted by the Tetrad Events team and invited to try out three meals from the Food Works kitchen along with their limited edition activity bag. I visited the  Wybourn hub to collect mine but there are also hubs in the Sharrow and Upperthorpe areas of Sheffield.  I will be the first to admit that I am usually quite apprehensive about food that is nearing it’s best before date and as such waste more than necessary. Recently we have been freezing a lot of our meat and bread, then defrosting it as and when it is needed, I have switched cotton wool for reusable alternatives and we are using our car much less.…

Learning how to weave with TheCraftingKindUK.

I have been following Kathryn on Instagram for quite a while now and always swoon over her letterbox craft kits. I have a huge amount of crafting ‘stuff’ but can never resist adding to the collection. Weaving is something I have been keen to learn for ages, so I ordered straight away on launch night. As soon as the box dropped through my letterbox I was desperate to get started but of course mum life comes first and I had to wait until Rosie had gone to bed before cracking on. I then spent the next couple of hours crafting away when I should have really of been getting an…

Beauty Samples I have used up lately.

I used to save any samples or travel sizes that I picked up in gift with purchases or goody bags. Squirreling them away for times that I may get the chance to travel or fancy a change, but for the most part they just sat in a basket in my cupboard. With the likelihood of any travel looking quite slim for the next year I decided to work my way through them and try out some new products and rediscover some old favourites. Empties posts are some of my favourites so I hope that you enjoy this one too. I have used the coloured hearts below as a guide for…

TopCashback Sweet Treats Giveaway 2021 – Guide and Answers.

You may remember my post on TopCashback’s Christmas Treat prize draw. I can’t believe it is already time for the next one. I have been using TopCashback for years but only recently have taken part in the prize draws. The prize draws are a great way to (hopefully) earn a bit of extra cash. I personally enjoy decoding the clues each day but I will include a list of answers to save you some time. Also, you don’t have to have taking part from day 1 as you can go back and complete any that you have missed. This event runs form the 1st to 21st March 2021. How Does TopCashback Work?…

Gift Ideas for Mother’s Day 2021

Mother’s Day falls on the 14th March this year and with the latest guidelines just having been released, it looks as though we are set to spend Mother’s Day in lockdown.  I wanted to share a curated selection of gifts that are perfect for Mother’s Day, that are suitable for all ages and would be very well received – especially if they have a tearaway toddler or have spent the last year juggling home schooling on top of everything else that 2020/1 has thrown at us.  I have also placed a big Hobbycraft order and I am going to have a go at some Mother’s Day/Springtime crafts with Rosie ahead of a…

    My current evening skincare routine.

When I am feeling under the weather my skincare is one of the first things to slip. I stop indulging in a multi step regime and focus on the bare essentials. I absolutely cannot sleep with makeup on which is a blessing in disguise at it forces me to at least take it off. but apart from that it really is the absolute minimum. The products I am currently using focus on getting the most efficacy with minimum effort. There are a few steps in my routine that are still missing – mainly a retinol and vitamin c, so if you have any recommendations then please let me know. Of…

    Quick and easy pancake recipe.

I will leave it to you to decide whether I am late to the pancake day party or simply super early for next year. It was when I was making pancakes with Rosie on Shrove Tuesday that I realised just how quick and easy they are to make. Rosie has been really interested in helping me in the kitchen and this recipe is simple enough that she knows what to do at each step.  This recipe makes about 12 pancakes, depending on how big you make them. These are a fluffy, scotch pancake style and are my go to. They are also much easier than crepes for little hands and…
